DEA EXEC/REP COUNCIL
Wednesday, March 22, 2017
The minutes of the March 8, 2017 meeting were approved.
Treasurer’s Report: There is a balance of $25,174.50.
The following budget was presented and approved for 2017-2018:
Conventions/PD, Dinners, Workshops $ 3,000
Office Supplies/Postage $ 500
Consultant Fees/Negotiations/Stipends $19,000
Social Welfare/Retirement $ 2,000
Public Relations/Pride $ 2,000
Miscellaneous $ 500
Correspondence: There is still one retiree from Grant School. Please notify Anna Delia at Dumont High School if any additional retirements are announced.
Custodial: Met with a mediator on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 6:30 pm in the Board Office. They are meeting again April 3, 2017.
Slate of Officers: The slate of officers and representatives was approved (see other side). Since the slate is uncontested, the recording secretary cast a vote at 12 noon on March 22nd. There may be two additional representatives from Dumont High School who will “share” a position.
Contract Update: The School Board should be signing/ratifying the contract at the Board meeting in April (either on April 20 or April 27). We are cautiously optimistic that the membership will receive a retroactive payroll check for the 2015-2016 fiscal year sometime in May and another check in June for the 2016-201 fiscal year. We will start fresh in 2017-2018 with the ratified salary guide.
Curriculum Night: Has been deemed a voluntary event. Those of you who still have your payroll request form for the event last year should give them to your building representative ASAP so that payment can be requested. If you would like to volunteer for this year’s Curriculum Night/Art Show/Science Fair/Activities Night you will be doing so without monetary compensation.
Board Meetings: Just a reminder that Honiss is the school that is scheduled to attend the April board meetings.
The next DEA meeting is Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 3:45 in the DHS Faculty Room (located on the parking lot level by the cafeteria entrance). We welcome any members who would like to attend.
